Back in the Saddle

It has been a crazy couple of weeks for me with clients, and deadlines, and the like, but hopefully everything is back to normal… for me at least.  Thus my erratic postings should now be a bit more… regular.  Finally getting to peek out at the world around me… I have found that things are just plain nuts, and I guess I shouldn’t complain about being nuts at work.

Woman runs over own legs – I don’t know what bothers me more about this story.   The fact that somebody could be stupid enough to find a way to drive over their own legs… or the fact that I feel quite certain that some lawyer will find a way to bring a lawsuit against somebody on her behalf.  You know something along the lines of, “There should be a sticker clearly emblazoned on the door that warns the user of the risks involved in getting out of the vehicle you are driving while it is still in gear, thus Chevrolet (she was driving a Blazer) should pay her $100 million for pain and suffering and promise to put warning stickers on all future vehicles.”  You may laugh now, but just think… there is a reason why Preparation H has a warning on its product warning to “Not take orally.”

DirecTV illegally calls people on Do Not Call List – So first DirecTV calls people on their own internal Do Not Call List.  Then they try to justify it, by saying it is not a “sales call” but a customer service call to see if you still want to be on their Do Not Call List.  What part of Do Not Call, do they not understand? (Full Discloser:  I have DirecTV myself.  I am not a fan of the Company or its owner, but hate them less than Comcast.  At least so far.)

Woman arrested for chasing children with a Sword – Fortunately no children were hurt when Amanda Harris apparently lost her brains, but that may have been sheer luck.  When taken into custody she told police that she should have hurt some of the “illegals” if she had known she was going to be arrested.  Even scarier… she was (I’m guessing the publicity will lead to her termination) employed by a Pre-School.

“Childrens do Learn” – Yup, that is your President, at it again, using his own stupidity (albeit unwittingly) to show how important an education really is while trying to drum up support for his woefully flawed No Child Left Behind.

Woman Gives Birth to own Grandchildren – While it certainly  sounds like a punchline out of the Blue Collar Comedy tour, this is not a Redneck joke.  This Brazilian Woman, acting as a surogate for her daughter, gave birth to her own twin “grandchildren.”  Am I the only one that just finds this just plain… icky somehow?

Maybe I should stick my head back in the sand… or at least try not to take in so much all at once.

Ok, not only is that grandma giving birth to own grandchildren thing a bit oogy – she had a c/section two weeks earlier than her due date because she couldn’t sleep? WTF?

As for the lady who drove over her own legs – I can’t even comment. The PC police will surely come after me. Oy.

Got something to say?
