A hush falls over the Blogosphere

Here we are.  The week before BlogHer, and a typically quiet week that involves lots of posts about people getting ready or counting down until their departure for the conference.

It has been an oddly quiet summer thus far as far as blogger controversies are concerned. (At least that I am aware of).  Oh sure, I caught a piece of the “flair up” on advertising on blogs that started over at mimi smartypants, and was picked up again by MetroDad (and I am sure some others by now) .  But overall, it seems to have been quiet.

Of course, I am sure that will end next week, as the back biting, insults, and opinions fly once everybody returns from BlogHer.  Who snubbed who?  Who said the wrong thing, or spoke to the wrong person, or didn’t bunk with the right people?  Who didn’t  get the recognition they “deserve.”  It will be entertaining to say the least, though I certainly feel bad for the sponsors and organizers that have to try and keep these events from getting permanently attached as the inevitable consequences of the conference.  To be sure it is not “most” people, it is in fact a very select few, but vocal they certainly are.

So now seems like a good time to point out something a bit snarky, and maybe even stir the pot a bit, because I know that it can’t possibly carry over beyond BlogHer (and because it seems like half the blogging world is packing for it anyway).  Allow me to give you the following.

Accepted Fact:  Men refuse to ask for directions.

Beyond the Fact:  We wouldn’t have to if women could just learn to read a map.
