Detained
Well, I must admit, this was a new and I would like to say entertaining, but not really experience for me. I was detained and kept off my bus this morning by police, as they decided to search my bag, and question my attire.
It was a bright, sunny morning here, but according to Accuweather, rain is expected this afternoon/evening. Apparently, I was the only one at this part of the terminal that bothered to check the weather forecast before I left the house in the morning. So, while others were wearing light windbreakers or nothing at all, I was dressed all “Jack Abramoff” with my black trench coat and baseball cap (I just can’t pull off a Fedora like Abramoff).
So, the fact that I can only assume the very nice officers, also did not check the weather, and decided that I looked suspicious, and was asked to give up my place in line. Well, more than that, they went through my laptop bag, and asked me to remove my coat. As he was going through my coat, the officer asked why I would be wearing a such a coat on a bright sunny day. (See I told you they didn’t check the weather).
While, I was annoyed at being made to miss my bus, I guess I have to give credit to them actually checking based on some sort of visual cue (even if it is a dumb one), and not just randomly checking people just for the sake of being “even” in their checks.

Got something to say?

Sorry to hear about the nuisance. None the less, your story gave me a chuckle.
The police get two prizes: one for being shortsighted, another for being insightful.
