Picture Perfect Thursday – Goldfish
OK, so I’ve already admitted today that I am a spend-a-holic when it comes to my princess. But you know… it wasn’t always as expensive as it is today. Here in this picture, from Easter 5 years ago, it clearly shows all I needed to get her really excited then… Goldfish.
Yup, Peperidge Farms Goldfish. I don’t know how we would have ever gotten her out of childhood without them. They were the secret to life. If we didn’t have goldfish around, she just wasn’t eating… anything. But with the promise of goldfish afterwards, dinner time was much easier.
Today, she has outgrown these tasty little morsels. And I must admit, I miss it on a couple of levels. First off, I miss having an excuse to eat them myself. But second, since she has turned out to be such a pain in the…errr… particular eater, I miss having that leverage. Now, even though I will try and bribe with todays junk food that she likes it is not the same. She will forgo anything… even chocolate and ice cream, to avoid even trying new things. It just doesn’t have the same magic.
Nothing it seems, has the power of Goldfish.
