Fly me to the moon

I owe a big debt of gratitude to BusyMom for posting about the Lunar Eclipse on Saturday.  LatteGirl has really taken a liking to Astronomy (she even spent the afternoon with TheWife at the Hayden Planetarium) and getting to see a lunar eclipse was a real treat for both of us (it was a bit too chilly out for TheWife).

The clouds made us miss most of the Total Eclipse, but we were able to enjoy a vast majority of watching the moon coming out of the earth’s shadow.  With new telescope set up on the front sidewalk, we got a few knowing smiles of parent and daughter sharing an experience together, combined with a couple of sideward glances, trying to figure out what the heck we were doing.

Sure, this will stay far better in my memory than it will in hers, but for now it was something we were both thrilled sharing with each other, and had a wonderful (if cold) time.

My friends daughter was born in the middle of the eclipse, which is pretty cool i think.

Sorry, double post. Oh… does this make it a triple post? Better quit now while I’m ahead.

Got something to say?
