Picture Perfect Thursday – Superstar
One thing we never doubted was LatteGirl’s desire to show off. She has always wanted to be the center of attention. Although she has also always been more than happy to share the spotlight with others.
This hasn’t always jived well with her tendency to be shy. But once she warms up to the crowd around her, she wants to be the star attraction.
I’m not quite sure why I am feeling so nostalgic right now, but it all seems to be going by so fast to me right now, and my little superstar isn’t so little any more. But the shine in her eyes, her big smile and infectious laughter is still there. And no matter how bad a day I may have, I can always look forward to coming home, to a big hug, kiss and that ever bubbling enthusiasm.
I guess, I am coming to the realization, that all too soon, this will come to an end. I look back at this picture, which seems like in some ways it was taken just a short time ago, but in others it almost feels like another lifetime. And as I ponder that, I realize that it will be too soon (for me), that she will be all grown up. I won’t be the one that she strives so hard to entertain and be a superstar for, I will start to take a back seat to friends and such.
I know deep down that she will still love me, and that the brightness of her light will always in some ways shine upon me. Things will continue on, and time and cicumstances will change. But she will always be my little superstar.
